Carnuba wax has been around for as long as automotive paint finishes have been around.
Carnuba wax on a daily driver car will last 30 days. Most people are not aware of that. Carnuba wax has a melting temperature of about 101 degrees as compared to a synthetic finish which has a melting temperature of 392 degrees.Carnuba wax comes in both liquid and paste forms and the difference is just for ease of application. Synthetic paint sealants are much better application for your car’s finish and are one of the things that car dealers are taking advantage of consumers on by charging high prices.
I put a synthetic sealant on every car that comes in my shop simply because the products don’t cost that much more money and I believe the finish is much better. More durable and a better shine. Most people don’t understand that when you polish your car, you’re not doing anything to protect it. All you’re doing is removing light surface scratches and bringing back shine. There are two types of polish – a pure polish, which has no abrasives in it, which is strictly designed to bring a shine or pop back to your finish.
