This interesting video presentation is produced by JLV Production, who was the first Auto Car Body Repair firm to post tutorial video about car body painting, on YouTube.com. They started posting videos long back in 1990. This video briefly explains how car body painting is an easy job.

Hello and welcome to our second video ‘Advanced Auto Body Repair and complete painting’. My name is Jim Conner and I will be guiding you through the steps and procedures necessary to repair and repaint your automobile. Unlike our first video, ‘Basic Auto Body Repair, painting and touch up’, you will learn more advanced technique like, sand painting, scratch repair, rust repair, major dent repair, peeling paint, moving and replacing striping, wet sanding, complete painting using the base color code system and finish buffing. I will be describing the tools and materials needed, in this video as we go along. Some of the tools that we use in this video are necessary in making each repair. Our project in this video is 1988 Colorado Pick Up.

The first thin you need to do, is remove the chrome and moldings, necessary to make your repair. So with that set lets start removing the moldings. Now we have removed the chrome and moldings, you can see, we remove the grill here, and the reason we were remove the grill here, because this surface rust is coming through in and the bottom of its under here. But the chrome still on there would have been repaired due to sand blasting and needs to be done and can kill the rust behind it. Actually, this way to you also we begin, new paint behind. We got lot of sand blasting due on this.

Now, I do not remove all of the moldings on this, because there is no rust, or there is no work needed to be done behind the molding. So I left those on, you can see we remove the moldings here, because of the surface rest around the molding. Now as we look down, you will see the dent. Now we have got to repair in this quarter panel. Now, this is actually pretty good size dent. It goes clear cross the bottom of front of quarter panel and about half way to up to the center. Now this cab corner here, I don’t think you can see real good in a, the tape, but, its bubbled, pretty bad.
