It keeps the edges of the blade out of the paint and it gives you a nice round beveled edge to work with.
Now we go we will find a piece of dirt and we will just scrape it now stop so you can see what i have done you can see the piece of trash, you can see how we would leveling it, and what we do you can tell we are not putting much pressure at all on it. We are just scraping the top of the hood until the dark spots are gone then you got your level piece.
We will do one more you can see the dark spots on either sides that indicate a low spot same as blocking which is what we showed you in the painting video. You got your levels spot cause its a very smooth cut basically you scrapped with 1500 paper that will come handy.
