Hi, I am Moniya Minors wishes you from Expert Villege. Ok, we are fixing a tech for center differential fluid but first we are going to move the hood to ninety degrees because I am a big boy, I can’t really squeeze in to tight lid area.
The first thing you do is push your hood up, pull your pop rod out. It’s in a little grommet; you are going to pull out from the little grommet. Then you are going to remove this little plug. You are going to take your hood. Pop rod slide it in to the same notch that came out of backwards and put it in that little hole. Now your hood is at ninety degrees. Now I am getting easy access to that center differential dipstick which lives right below the air cleaner box which is straight down there.
First thing you are going to do is to locate low yellow dipstick, which is yellow so it is pretty easy. You are going to put your hand down in, pull the little yellow dipstick out. That’s how you get it out and that is your dip stick but now we are going to check, remember, wipe it off, stick it back in, pull it out and check. Then I will show you little marks on dipstick.
Ok, as you can see, I wiped off the dipstick, it’s now clean. Now we are going to re insert it back down to that wiring harness, back down to the little hole that it came out of. Put it all the way in where this area is flushed with the top of the hole then pull it back out and check the fluid level.
This is the fun part. You will be sticking your hands down below this air box and you pretty much finding the whole with your hand. That is the dip stick for checking the front differential. It is under the wiring harness and also under the air cleaner box.
Ok, now that the dipstick’s all the way bottom down we are going to pull it back out, with the same path that we took to put it back in. once you got it out, you can see the fluid level is at the F mark. Bottom line is your low mark if it is below that bottom line, you need to add fluid 8090 which is a differential oil and the top line is full, so if your fluid is a the top line you are full. If it is anywhere between those two lines it’s good, you don’t have to worry about it and if it’s a little bit over that top line, it’s still ok, don’t worry about it. If it’s a little over full, a very little overfull is better than little wonderful.
That’s how you check your front differential fluid. Now don’t forget to reinstall your dip stick. And that’s how you check your front differential fluid.
