Hi my name is Nay Nicola, on be half of Expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about several types of where you will find on your drive belt.
I have an old drive belt here which is pretty much trashed and as you can see the first thing I am going to talk about is going to be cracks in particular. You can see this belt full of cracks, all over the place. The rule of thumb is three cracks within three inches on one rib indicate 80 percent of the belt life is gone. This belt is junk, number one the multitude of cracks on it. There is another thing that I like to point out to you is going to be chunking. You see bend there is a big chunk missing. If you have a chunk missing longer than a half inch then the belt is garbage.
Little tiny bits of the belt can be missing it is nothing wrong with that anything of this size or later is gonna indicate the belt is no good. There is another thing you get a wanna look for I’m gonna compare this old belt with a new belt and you can see the difference on what left on part of life goes is the ritz.
