Hi my mane is Nick McAllen on be half of expert village. In this clips we are going to talk about the proper way to remove and replace an engine valve cover that is cracked extensively worn, rusted out or otherwise defective.

In this clip we are going to talk about the proper way to install your valve cover gasket into your replacement valve cover. Ahhmm.. This happens to be a kind of a complicated gasket…mm… Just being that it doesn’t have a individual gasket for your plug out, it’s all wrapped together. Ah…what’s you are going to do is when you take it out of the box is just get it all straight so there is no twisting curves in it and set it on top of the valve cover in kind of the rough position or its going to go. I always start from the center and work my way out kind of rolling a pizza dough something like that.

Ah.. To start by sealing this portion here, right where the bolt hole goes and I am going to seal this plug galley gasket right there. After that I am going to work around where my crank valves go. Alright there it goes. You can see the gasket is firmly sealed in the track all the way around and it is sealed at our plug galley very good.

Alright.. There it you go that is the proper way to seal your valve cover gasket.
